William ‘Pila’ Chiles left Vietnam where he was a Marine combat soldier. He had a vision that he'd go to Hawaii. When he arrived in Hawaii, Pila fell in love with Hawaii's culture, traditions, and history. On the Big Island he met and befriended an old Kahuna named Papa Bray. Pila was a thought leader, speaker, and businessman and he asked Papa Bray to teach him the Ways of the Kahuna so that he could preserve and highlight the brilliance that helped shaped the Island's identity and that was soon to be lost to encroaching tourism. Papa Bray was elated to have Pila whom he saw was a wise, excited, and eager student who could ultimately be positively influential writing and teaching the ways of the Kahuna. Thus, came this book: The Secrets and Mysteries of Hawaii, A Call to the Soul.
